About the event

Join the North American Indigenous Center of New York for the book launch of The Mohawk Warrior Society: A Handbook on Sovereignty and Survival.

We will be in conversation with members of the Kanien'kehá:ka Kahnistensera, an activist group of Mohawk women from Kahnawake, and Rotisken'rhakéhte in activated amplification of Kaianerekowa, the Great Law of Peace.  The Mohawk Warrior Society: A Handbook on Sovereignty and Survival contains new oral history by key figures of the Rotisken'rhakéhte revival in the 1970s, this compilation tells the story of the Warriors’ famous unity flag, other expressions through art, and the armed occupation of Ganienkeh in 1974, and the role of their constitution, the Great Peace.

This Book launch is a part of NAIC-NY’s Peace Summit, Land Back, and cultural continuance mission to actively maintain and strengthen sovereignty for Tribal Nations and peoples within Turtle Island.  NAICNY is a Grassroots organization which is a people-powered and not for profit.  To support the journey of the featured guests and contributors of this book please make a donation to NAICNY's GoFundMe page: https://gofund.me/c718e5cc Your donations are dedicated to the elder's travel and accommodations as they will be travelling 4-7 hours in from Kahnawake, Akwesasne, Seneca, and Massachusettes.
